Description
This Viral Baked Oats Recipe took TikTok by storm, and for good reason! It’s a quick, healthy, and delicious breakfast that tastes just like cake but is made from wholesome ingredients. The blended oats give it a soft, fluffy texture that feels more like dessert than breakfast, no joke.
Equipment Needed
Ingredients
- ½ cup rolled oats
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- Cooking spray (for greasing)
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional, for chocolate version)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a ramekin or small oven-safe pan with cooking spray.
- Add rolled oats, banana, egg, maple syrup, baking powder, and a pinch of salt to a blender. Blend for about 1 minute until the mixture is completely smooth with no visible oats.
- If making the chocolate version, add cocoa powder and blend again briefly to combine.
- Pour the smooth batter into the prepared ramekin and place it on a baking tray for easier handling.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the baked oats to cool for about 10 minutes before eating. Serve as is, or top with nut butter, yogurt, or extra banana slices for more protein and flavor.
Notes
Storage: Store baked oats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 1 week.
Freeze: Freeze before or after baking for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warm.
Tip: For a smoother cake-like texture, make sure the oats are fully blended, that’s the viral secret!
